10 most important movies of the last 10 years

Me and my Dad have a deal. We each create a list of 10 movies. We then trade lists and watch every movie on the list. In this way we each share ideas and a joy of film.

But this year, I am going to include some documentaries on my list, the most obvious being “An Inconvienet Truth”.

What are the most important, best, and mind blowing movies of the past 10 years?

Hmmm Sharkey has a great list there…and I’d agree (well, except I haven’t gotten The Power of Nightmares yet from Netflix…hint, hint, Netflix, any day now! )
    .
So, do you trade lists every year? but limit them to movies that are at the most 10 years old?
    .
I’ll go ahead and list some others that just generally I enjoyed (and remembered!), not necessarily all earth-shattering, but I think I can say I’ve talked with my kids about these , too, which is cool … I think these all fit the 10 years, unless my sleepy eyes are skidding over imdb.com too fast….
    .
    The Sixth Sense
    The Matrix
    The Green Mile
    Gladiator
    Kill Bill
    Into the Wild
    There will be Blood
    Cars

My kids saw WALL-E and loved it, but I haven’t seen it yet…
    .
And, as an aside, if my older son was making this list, he’d put Star Wars 1, 2, & 3
    .
I hope you share your two lists when done!

Oh, do you include mockumentaries? lol
    :)

    Add
    The island
    Good Night and Good Luck

    to your own viewing list.
And for jsut good old fun, I LIKED the 2008 made for TV remake of The Andromeda Strain though it got panned by the critics.
