I tried directly into the iPhone, and also using the built-in mic with my iPhone earbuds, both cases worked fine. It got all the strange requests I gave it. . Like, did you know the Corn Palace is in South Dakota? . I agree with Sharkey, it's just a short pairing then with a translator. . Just wait, though, til the translator starts correcting you ("Hey hey hey, you should have said...." or "OMG YOU SAID...") .
